Who We Are
She is an Italian visual artist, since 2006 lives in Helsinki. Her work focuses on linear and non-linear narration as an art form. Interested in operational realism, the presentation of the functional sphere and its inter-relations in an aesthetic manner, she combines photography, moving image, installation, sculpture, environmental art, and experimental live art. In her pieces industrial materials meet delicate handcraft, selected trash mix with fashion, precious life forms congregate with ancestral recipes.
Her work appears at international biennials, museums and relevant institutions, as well as cutting edge and independent alternative spaces and events. She collaborates with several groups: Catalysti association of transcultural artists in Finland; Pixelache trans-disciplinary platform for experimental art, research and activism; Muu association of professional artists; Maatiainen association for the preservation of landraces.
She is currently living and working in Berlin. She is a visual artist specialised in ceramic design and installation. Her works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stuttgart, Berlin and Valencia. She teaches visual arts to children and adults. Her environmental artworks focus on the variations of rhythm and the dialogue between rural and urban areas. She defines her works as the knot which counterpoints the pulse of the territory.
He is a composer (b.1983), performer and artist residing in Helsinki, Finland. He works with new concepts and possibilities in between classical music and contemporary art, extending both out to the social and political spheres.
His work has been shown at contemporary art Museums as well as at Music festivals. He also works under several pseudonyms online and has published music, literature, poetry, film, 3D, as well as edited and published works of others under the publishing name Pteron Press and Ever Books.
She is a producer (b. 1982) and arts manager based in Helsinki. Johanna has a Bachelor degree in Cultural Management from Sydväst University of Applied Science, and a Master degree in Arts Management from University of the Arts Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy. Recently she has been working with Mustarinda, and the Frontiers in Retreat project dealing with art and ecology in remote residencies in Europe.
The Executive Director and co-founder of Perpetuum Mobile, a curatorial vehicle, which brings together art, practice and enquiry. It acts as a conduit and engine to re-imagine certain basic historical, theoretical as well as practical paradigms in fields, which often exist in disparate institutional frames and territories. She has worked extensively with visual art practitioners, scholars, NGOs as well as with grass-root level experts and activists, developing longer-term thematic projects, trans-disciplinary conferences, workshops, residencies, public art projects and exhibitions. Marita was previously curator at HIAP The Helsinki International Artists-in-Residence Programme; curator at Frame The Finnish Fund for Art Exchange; 2001-2005 at NIFCA The Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art. Among her projects: the Perpetual Romani Pavilion (Venice 2009), The Arts Assembly (Manifesta 8), The Nordic Pavillion in the Dak’art Biennale (2012). Since 2011 Marita is co-curating thematic Re-Aligned taking place in several cities in Europe, as well as developing MOBRA, Mobile Residency Academy concept.
A technology lawyer with a deep academic training in law and economics. He has worked in the academia, high growth IT-companies and in his own law firm Turre Legal. Typically Herkko’s job has been to make sure that his client has the legal processes that do not hinder the business but keep the company safe from legal risks. Herkko is an experienced litigator and startup advisor. His expertise is in start-ups, copyright and media law. Herkko has advised and represented many of the big organizations in his speciality areas as well as artists and social misfits who are ready to stand up for their right to hack society better. Herkko has published in the top publications and presented his research in some of the best conferences and universities in the world. He has done his research in 7 universities that include Harvard, Berkeley, MIT and Aalto University.
Arttu Manninen is a freelancer programmer, working on the fertile plains of the Internet since 2003. Some of his jewels have brought international recognition from Cannes Lions and Facebook Studio.

She is an Italian independent art critic, researcher and curator, PhD in contemporary art history. Since 2001 she collaborates with Nordic and Italian artists and her work has been supported by cultural institutions and embassies, and promoted by the media. Among her latest works: the Italian première of La vie en rose by Spanish artist Cristina Nuñez at Galleria Effearte, Milan; the multimedia exhibition Il Cerchio dell’arte, at Centro Trevi, Bolzano; the exhibition of Finnish artist Marita Liulia, Choosing My Religion & Tarot, at CCRN Neumünster Abbey, Luxembourg. Since 2012 she is coordinator of the Visual Art page Cultfinlandia.it, the website promoting Finnish culture in Italy.
He is an Indian artist living in Finland. He holds a Master in sculpture from Delhi University and a Master in Live Arts and Performance Studies from TeaK, Helsinki. He is interested in the aspect of public anatomy by which he means, making and doing something with public. He crafts objects and instruments and invites the public to perform looking into the aspects of a collective understanding of art form, and looking at interaction, anticipation, and perception as the sense holding a community.
Talented and passionate about food, environment, natural products and all that is respectful of nature and life in general, Lorenzo is a chef constantly evolving proposals healthy cooking traditionally discounted. From diverse experiences in Europe and in New York, he finds spaces dedicated vegan, raw, natural and wild food, using innovation and tradition with his Mediterranean approach, which today more than ever, represents aspects of healthy living and respectful of the environment.
Jasmin is an up and coming writer, currently based in Helsinki. He has vast knowledge of and has worked in the fields of art and popular culture including cinema, music and fashion. He is an endless source of both aesthetic and literal references and is a very passionate and sometimes even obsessed writer. Currently, Jasmin is a contributing writer for SSAW magazine and has recently worked at HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme as a communications specialist.
